Must one join the thieves guild to train Remove Traps?

The guildmaster says she can teach "Disarming Traps". I politely asked her to but she couldn't comprehend.

For training skills, due to a lack of formal education in most of Britainnia, NPC's will only understand the first word of a skill name. You must say "<name> train disarming".

Make sure you also have enough Detect Hidden skill (think you need 80, anyone confirm?)
