Hello [Introduction and Questions]
Hi, how are you?
My name is Vaughn and I'm new to this shard and UO in general.
I've been searching for a challenging and realistic MMO for a while now and I've come to a conclusion that UOSA
seems like a good chance.
Having read a good amount of the guides, I've come to a conclusion that there are some skills that a beginner shouldn't
use due to how challenging and expensive they can be. What would be a good class or build to begin with? (I've made a provocation bard for now.)
Any useful advice for a newb would be appreciated.

Provo bard is an excellent choice. Search the forums for a survival guide. Thicken your skin, and steel your will! Welcome to the best video game ever made.

Re: Hello [Introduction and Questions]
Cast off worthless skills like melee and barding skills. Get enough magery to recall without fail, take up stealing and stealth, and make your entire in-game fortune on the backs of the weak and stupid!
Just watch out for GuardianKnight. He is a scammer and PK.

I've made almost 100k in two days of doing this. (I would say they are mostly stupid)

Welcome to UOSA!
This is a good read for new players viewtopic.php?f=42&t=36806
Watch out for scam vendors, use ID skill to verify for example a spellbook you buy has 64 spells in it, IDing it will
tell you that, some things are a bit harder to tell. My vendor is a trusted one [see sig below] along with many others, check the fourms before you go shopping.
Magery will be a skill you will want on your provo/bard, let me know when you want to get started and
Ill help you with spellbook/regs/small house to train in etc.
Good luck!!

Wow, thanks so much for all of the feedback guys, I look forward to it. My previous character that I'd fooled around on was intended to be a thief, and I'm definitely going to work on him after I make a stockpile on my Provoke bard.

Your welcome. Dont forget get to get all 3 of your accts setup through the registar process, that way youWhippoorwill wrote:Wow, thanks so much for all of the feedback guys, I look forward to it. can play/train 3 chars at once, as long as its not a resourse skill, ie: mining/fishing/lumberjacking. I believe a sheep
farm is also resoursing, but you'll have to find out for sure.
Some skills you can use your other chars to help train, some wont. For example, when you do magery, you will have to
create a healer on another acct and use him/her to heal the mage.

Re: Hello [Introduction and Questions]
I would do a bard dexxer as a new player starting with 50 magery 49 healing 1 provocation
Swords
Tactics
Anatomy
Healing
Mage 50
Resist
Provoke 75
Music 75
Later you can switch skills around and make it a pure dexxer however you see fit. Healing is essential in training. Look in forums on how to raise these skills up. With provocation you can train most of these skills easy while earning gold at the same time. Note your first purchased skill should be resist. Ask around for someone to help you raise it with fire field.
