For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

well you cant tame giant spiders but heres a link on your wiki that says you can

Giant spiders are completely tamable. I just verified against the info in the wiki though and the min skill was set just a little bit high, will be fixed on next shard restart.
