Tailoring

I have not got a single skill gain after making like a bunch of skull caps, then i went up to jester suits, what's going on? my tailoring is only at 28.4 and not even .1 gain

Jester suit only requires 8-9 skill. Make something just at the skill you have (real skill). So at this point you could make fancy pants or shirts for example.

Thanks, also I'm now wondering can I continue to make Robes until I'm GM or do I have to make something else? Do I have to make a certain item once the skill is there, do you know what I mean? Also for carpentry, can I make gnarled staffs until I'm GM or do I have to make something else. If you have any suggestions that'll be great thanks

No you have to keep changing what you do. When an item won't yield enough skill gain, check the table to see what the next thing you can do is, and make that. Always make the thing that requires the highest skill to make (and also take into account how much material you sped, obviously you want to make something that takes up the least resources).

You will eventually have to make leather and studded leather armor to GM the skill.
