Blessed sandals damage

I have heard that as long as you are wearing pants, wether it be long or short, it will prevent non gf sandals from taking damage. Is this only true for long pants? I have been wearing short pants for a while and still have my sandals, either they are gf blessed and I dont know it, or short pants work fine. I would appreciate a gms input because I have heard people swear to both sides.a

I have personally tested small pants and they do not protect sandals. If you want to know if they are gf blessed try testing them during server wars. With 20 sheep or so a fresh pair of sandals will last about 8 minutes.
