A Taming Guide update?

Post by Allyward »

When I commented on the taming guide before, it was mentioned that it was years out of date...has anyone got access to a new one? Just really what to tame at what level and their spawns...not after an AFK or semi-AFK, just what to go for.

Thanks

I've been doing lots of taming recently, not sure what your skill is at so not sure what direction to point you.

from 50-70's was really slow for me , i roamed the world taming various things like llama's/cougars/panthers/great harts, anything i could find really, got raises of things never would of expected just by taming everything i came across.

once 70's and able to tame bulls i pretty much just sat in Yew sheep pen and tamed bulls/cows/llama's/sheep. They'll continue to respawn, just move them outa the pen or kill them after it gets to full. This kinda boring but i got like 800 bolts of cloth from it before i was finished, and it was quite fast. (tip for fun, make a theme by naming the creatures... i had names of Chicago bulls players for the bulls, GOBulls for the sheep, Da Bulls for the llama's and Bulls Fan for the cows and had a bulls rally! ok maybe only im crazy to have fun that way :D ) (another fun tip, make a sheep maze while doing it! :D )

after bulls wore thin i went to T2A lands and tamed giant toads, therse plenty of good spots for this, my favorite being just across bridge and to the right, norht of papau.

while taming toads; Imps, Hell hounds, Hell kitties, Lava Lizards all became tamable. Done those things to get to 91, after that im not sure yet still. Plenty of spots to get these guys stuck on to make it easy to tame, and not have to run in circles so much.

By no means do i think this is the "fastest" or most effecient way to raise taming, but since nobody else was putting anything out there for you its all i can give  , i've had a lot of fun taming, and think its much better now with re-taming not allowed. Tamer was first char i made and have tamed off and on since i started end of feb. to get to 91, though i must admit i was at like 70, 2 weeks ago, so it really sped up once i got to bulls, im sure someone has a good strat for 50-70. Most people i believe just tame on Ice island and kill what they tame so that it continues to repop, not sure.

91+ we'll see, but getting to all the fun stuff now so it's exciting.

Thank you so much for this, yeah I'm still in the 50 - 70 cat...I tamed a few stuffs and got some strange gains for sure...but it is more fun that I thought..especially having a throng of crappy animals attacking orcs as they run past!

Thanks for the help!

just make circles around Dagger Island (the ice one).
You can go up to 80 there.
I'm not root of myself

Ok what I've done so far is the following...

-Created character. 50 tame, 50 magery. 60 STR 10 DEX 10 INT
(tame is the only skill you must set at 50, I almost did resist instead of magery, but w/e fuck it)

-Bought skill cap to 700 pts. Worked stats till desired.
100 STR 25 DEX 100 INT

-After toggling my stats up to the sky, my Taming without show real option was 59.2 - I then begged a nice person to gate me to Dagger Isle(Ice Island)

-Smoked a lot of weed

-Tamed everything! Polar Bears, Walruses, and Snow Leopards. I found Walruses gave me best gains until 60, Bears speedily took me to 63, and Snow Leopards took me the fastest to 65.5 at which point then I was able to tame White Wolves (FINALY)

-Followed this guide http://forum.uosecondage.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6378 (Thanks to Matron De Winter!) to 73.5 taming. I gained a total of +9.0 to my animal taming!

Tonight I plan to continue doing the above method, till about... Ohh 80 ish? Or however high my skill needs to be to tame Hell Hounds. Speaking of Hell Hounds, anyone have a link directing us to a Taming Difficulty Chart?

@ Leerix, that's absolutely hilarious. I do the same thing... If you're going to be stuck targeting random creatures in the game, and seeing the same convincing text of enslavement droned from the top of you characters head, you might as well have fun renaming/slaughtering the helpless robots.

Happy taming man.

Nice, thanks for getting back to me Doc.

I'm currently at 81.2 Animal taming/ 100 lore

Any strategies for taming HHs?
