Why did this happen and where was the discussion about it? I did not see it.

This was disabled on OSI in october 1998.

I was pretty sad to see this go too (not becuase a like seeing noobs blown up at Brit mank, but just becuase it's so beautiful to see them all go off), but as Batlin said this feature was entirely pre-T2A
