For me, if I see a K^A Blue run by, usually a scout. PKs be recalling shortly after!Karik Verlee wrote:What are your methods? Yeah the K^A are little douches. They love to ninja loot kills too.

K^A.... is luckygold in K^A?
Re: New player: This is way more brutal than OSI T2A
I found that regardless of where I hunt, be it in dungeons or outside in the field - when I see someone in a guild, being blue and drop my hitpoints below 80% while either taming or killing a monster, they will just attack and try to kill me.
No words - nothing. Usually I am prepared for a quick recall. But what's the point of recalling all the time when I see a person. It's just frustrating really.
I met a few old school-style PKs since my start here. But that is the minority actually.
Usually it is just the blue guys who walk by .. MAYBE start a conversation and as soon as you are the least distracted by whatever you're doing they attack.
I think this griefing is the most painful thing on this shard - It's not the PKs for the most part.
Yet I did not find a solid group to hunt with or do whatever being fun - either because of timezone differences or a very lot of people just enjoying that griefious playstyle on their own.
It's still fun to notice that having 150 players online you encounter griefers like 1 out of 2 times being out of your house or town.

Re: New player: This is way more brutal than OSI T2A
So first there are non-stop pks in dungeons so everyone complains... but then if you want to make a anti pk guild there are no pks to be found?....GuardianKnight wrote:There isn't an anti guild because pks don't stay anywhere. They hide in their houses until their ghost tells them there's a target fighting a monster. They then gate in and gank and then recall out asap.
You would have to be insanely patient to be a anti pk on this server. It's easy to be a pk. Get a group, find a target, leap. I can't imagine anyone wanting to be an anti and sit there waiting for hours for the next pk rotation of a dungeon. Boring.

Re: New player: This is way more brutal than OSI T2A
The point is that ghosting allows the PK's the luxury of popping in when the coast is clear and there's only a defenseless bard farming. They just have multiple areas ghosted and pick the ones that don't have any anti-pk's waiting for them.Pat wrote:So first there are non-stop pks in dungeons so everyone complains... but then if you want to make a anti pk guild there are no pks to be found?....GuardianKnight wrote:There isn't an anti guild because pks don't stay anywhere. Or anti-pk's gate in Pk's gate or recall out, so what's the point of sitting around waiting for pk's that are scoping the hot spots out and only dropping in on those areas that pose only a minimal threat?
No one is going to sign up for that kind of frustration, Pk's hole up in their towers and simply spy on dungeons and hot spots until they see safe opening and gate in. There isn't anyone that dedicated or organized on this shard to create an anti-pk guild worth a shit anyway.

I'd be more than happy to fight you on my stat loss char. You can bring whatever template you like. 1v1, 2v2 - whateverMikel123 wrote:Bottom line is yes, if you see another person, even a blue, it's often a scout.
And, PKing farmers is not that profitable. I mean, it is, but it's like the 78th most profitable thing you can do here. Purple potions are expensive.
Also, the reason there aren't groups of blue anti's running around is, in my opinion, because they're much harder to find than blue farmers. If you're a blue hunting reds, you're looking for a needle in a haystack. If you're a red hunting blues, you're looking for a weak piece of hay. Much much much easier to find.
And realistically, hunting in a pack of reds does keep you fairly protected. I have no doubt I could have taken anyone from TG or MYM, 1-on-1, if I ever sat near some new player farming harpies in Covetous and waited for one of them to show up. But, if there's 4 of them, I'd need at least 2 others waiting with me, and preferably 3. That's a lot of people wasting time, hoping a group of people randomly gate in.

Re: New player: This is way more brutal than OSI T2A
I'm sorry but I don't believe this is griefing... merely taking advantage of the situation. I have yet to PK anybody on this server but I know what to look for, what to do, and realize when I am outside of guard zone EVERYONE I see has the potential to take all my stuff.... welcome to UO.Troobadix wrote:Usually it is just the blue guys who walk by .. Oh and to pull from another PK issue thread...
For those of you concerned about PK's while farming or in a dungeon I am willing to but together a Private Military Company that will provide perimeter security and defense for your self or a group (now called the: Client). The PMC will provide an adequete level of protection through single or multiple body guards (actual players) that will serve to defend and/or slow down the sudden attacks of PK's in order to allow you/your group to continue farming or recall out. Also understand it is not the job of the PMC to defend you against NPC or Mob attacks unless these are directly correlated to a PK attack. If you or your group dies to a mob/npc the PMC employee's will resurrect you if possible or guard your body until you can return.
This service will of course incur a fee relevant to the activitiy you are engaged in and is graded.
Understand the PMC's employee's will be putting their lives and equipment on the line and go into this with the expectation that they will die and loss all (potentially) and therefore must be compensated approriately.
Standard Fee Schedule*+
"Outdoor" Farming activity in a non-guard zone:
10% of client earnings + 1000gp/hr
Dungeon crawling/farming in a non-hot spot:
10% of client earnings +3000gp/hr
Dungeon crawling/farming in a hot spot:
15% of client earnings +5000gp/hr
*The gp/hr is due BEFORE the start of the job with an initial minimum time set. This means that a contract may be initially set for 2 hours in a non-hot spot dungeon crawl. The Client will pay 6000gp before the job begins. If the job goes shorter our PMC retains the 6000gp. If the job goes longer 3000gp will be required per additional hour at the start of the hour. Having to recall out or end early will not result in a refund as it is expected your personal belongings and current earnings outweigh the difference.
+Collection of the PMC's 10% share is due before the Client leaves the farming/crawl activity or immediately upon return to a 'guard zone' and is up to the discretion of the PMC on-site commander. Failure to pay the 10% share OR to hide/cover up/falsify profits will result in censure, penalities, and fines.
Also understand that if a PK attack is successfully repulsed and loot is available from the dead PK it is the sole property of the PMC; regardless of any involvement of the client.
If you feel your safety, security, and profits are worth protecting we recommend you employ our PMC to ensure the highest level of protection. Contracts are available so please PM or Email us today:

Tenduil, it's a nice idea but no one is going to pay you their hard earned gold for a "protection service". It's better to just take your chances and have a good escape route planned.

I won't disagree though people should not complain then when they die.KydVicious wrote:Tenduil, it's a nice idea but no one is going to pay you their hard earned gold for a "protection service". It's better to just take your chances and have a good escape route planned.

People will make more money getting PK'd every so often and banking the rest than they would paying 5k per hour + a percentage (haha, seriously?)tenduil wrote:Oh and to pull from another PK issue thread...

Then that is the risk they take and they should not complain about it. I am willing to offer a service. If there is no market for it that's not a problem.Oswald wrote:
