Just out of curiosity, if his hally really is near breaking, couldn't it be repaired with a gm smith? And what is the condition after the repair? Are we talking 90%? 75%? 100%?

Depends on the smith's skill. I thought that items lose 10% of their max durability when you repair them but it might have something to do with their condition when they're repaired.

This is all from memory of OSI servers 12 years ago so take it with a grain of salt.

I can say with fair certainty that SOME of the max durability is lost when an item is repaired though I can't be certain how much.
