Monster Level + Loot
O.k, so i've been back and forth with my cousin on this one, i'll just lay the question out.
Does monster difficulty (mongbat= easy dragon=hard) have set loot tables they cannot exceed?
Could a mongbat drop a Vanquishing Halbered with just a very low probobility, or is it not even in the mongbats loot table; therefore it would never drop it?

Pretty sure they wont ever drop it, dont even think that they can even loot off corpses
Re: Monster Level + Loot
On AOS I'm pretty sure that they can, you'd need a lot of luck though.. Although, I'm not sure if it was like this on T2A.

AOS was the death of UO imho thats when I finally said enough it's truely went to hell. Then I tried to get my years prepaid amount back from EA, and they more or less said write it off as a donation to funding the game. All the things AOS put in was for those that only stayed in trammel that wished to show off their money instead of skill.

i liked the twist it had to it all weapons and special abilities mages could cast and leave weapon in hand. warriors had ability to heal with paladin and remove curse which made resist almost useless.
Re: Monster Level + Loot
I'll let a coder like Faust confirm but I can tell you from experience that a mongbat doesn't drop a magical weap period. And loot tables or something similar do exist because a terrathon warrior (for example) will always drop a magic wrap but it will never be power or higher. However, I did once get a +20 vanq hally from a level 1 tmap.

I've gotten plenty of vanq weps from warriors, including at least 1 vanq hally with GT charges. I believe any magic wep drop is a random chance of getting any mod, it just seems that higher end mobs drop better loot since they drop more magics more often, thus having a higher chance of getting a decent wep.

Most accounts, not most players. VERY different things. BOD's, one house per account, veteran rewards, etc...were all incentives to open multiple accounts. The actual number of players began a steady decline shortly after Trammel was introduced and starkly divided their playerbase. As to whether they would have gained much more accounts without Trammel or not, we'll never know.TwoTon wrote:Wolfpack wrote:AOS was the death of UO imho thats when I finally said enough it's truely went to hell. Also, as Pirul said, Warriors hand out lots of nice magics. You're just having bad luck or something.

Re: Monster Level + Loot
I personally thought of it as going to hell at the time for many reasons. One of the main reasons was they tried to pack everything they could onto the game to bring in new players, but never really expanded the sever size so it had alot of problems. Once AOS was out they pretty much lost nearly every dailup user at the time which I was, and prob why I think it went to hell at the time since I coudn't even login. While everything changed for the most part I still enjoyed the older days much more before AOS which is why i'm here. As for the loot question I would only say it would if someone put it on the corpse to be nice to you. I used to place stuff in random corpses about to be looted by new players in the graveyards at times.
Re: Monster Level + Loot
I do vaguely recall hearing before the AOS-luck system, that as long as a monster CAN drop a magic weapon it can be any level, but stronger monsters have a higher chance to drop better items.
That being said, I hope you don't plan on farming mongbats for a +25 vanq hally, because it might take you some time

99% sure it's loot tables.
