CTF rule change?

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

Put both the flags on the same reset timer...

And they both set at same time after an announced 5-30 seconds giving both teams time for coordinated positioning.

I also think either flags should have variable item types, but I dont know if this is possible. Macro jamming ftl.

Possibly a longer respawn time along with flag returns to base would help.

You all do realize that this still wont fix CTF. Whoever grabs the flag last can capture. I.E

A is in Brown base.
B is in Purples base

A stands there healing until he sees a message "B has stolen purples flag". He then waits 10 seconds, then grabs Browns flag. So, if the purple flag isnt returned "Everyone on purple just stands around killing brown who enter base", B will die by timer and A can capture due to having more time.

There is many ways around whatever you do. Now lets try removing the timer shall we?

With the current guildies on 1 team. 4 +- or mYm are on team Blue. Team green have randoms except for 2 good ctfers. mYm can run in and sync/return flags, the other team can only zerg and pray they get a kill "wont happen". So, again.. you need to run in as a team to return.. but will be ruined by guilds in vent.

Making refresh timers get lower and lower is the best idea, but then it becomes luck on who returns. Id vote for this one being a skilled ctfer myself.

maybe the rules should be designated by staging area rather then be uniform to every scenerio?

Have both flags on the same timer. Flags return to base when dropped. Picking up a flag adds 60 seconds to the timer.

What about droping a flag carriers health to 50 or less after the time limit, and you never have to pass it, you just keep it till you die.

Remove all timers

remove the ability to pass the flag

I think, if the flag carrier is killed, flag is auto returned, + no timer. This means people must pass it. But, again the guildies on 1 team creates a problem and this should be fixed first. IMO, removed "pick your own team" and just have a "join" gump. Once the game is started it randomizes teams evenly. Fix the real fuck ups before you fix the flag.
