Guild Town Addons?
Re: Guild Town Addons?
The Golden Brew on Baja was not RP'd. It was a bard/tavern than ran lots of events and provided a service to the shard.....unless you count RP'ing a bar owner.

Really? Might want to read over this then.Brules wrote:The Golden Brew on Baja was not RP'd. It was a bard/tavern than ran lots of events and provided a service to the shard.....unless you count RP'ing a bar owner.

the Golden Brew Tavern has essentially been the premiere roleplaying destination of the Baja Shard for more than ten years now. Since their inception in August 1998, the tavern has been a gathering place of roleplayers of all different persuations and alignments; whether they were Rangers of the Realm, Sailors of the Kingdom of Lumaria, or Initiates of the Dark Tower.

There was a post by Derrick or someone else that had a discussion between two official OSI people. They talked about guild-towns and pretty much indicated that guild-town addon's or "blessings" were almost exclusive towards RP guilds.
Seen K^A, UoH, mYm, T^B, PEE, and whatever the other addon-towns are, roleplaying lately?
we roleplay pvpers, at heart we're all just fishermen.

Re: Guild Town Addons?
all seems wierd to me, its likly going to end up badly when someone gets something & someone else dosnt.
also i for one didbt play on osi so i didnt know they had custom towns so to me it just looked like the shard was being customized. but that is probably what it looks like to a lot of newer people also.

Guild town add ons to the east of the Lich tower were an attempt at exactly replicating add ons from a geart lakes establishment

I know my old guild back on Atlantic, Lost Order of Akalabeth, had a fountain, benches, and some hedges put in the middle of our town in Yew. A peach tree too, I think.

I never said there were no such thing as GM blessed buildings.Karik Verlee wrote:The picture on this page was from 1999(our era) and has GM placed add-ons.
Thanks for proving my point for me. The biggest blessed town you know of on OSI had no roads at all.

Im pretty sure some had roads.... but even if they didn't so since none were used on OSI roads can't be used here? So we have to go down an item list and see what was used on OSI otherwise its off limits here?

If any roads were done anywhere on OSI I would bet they took the time to do them properly with edge tiles so they looked like the real roads.Karik Verlee wrote:bismuth wrote:I never said there were no such thing as GM blessed buildings.Karik Verlee wrote:The picture on this page was from 1999(our era) and has GM placed add-ons.

The roads that every single town on the shard has are horrendous, and should be removed. Also guilds who do not roleplay and don't have active communities should have their addons removed. There is no need for such a large amount of GM blessed areas. This shard probably has enough to match all OSI shards combined.
And as I understand it there is a blessed town on this shard with special zones to block marking and certain spells in their arena. I don't recall anyone getting special zones like that on OSI.

Re: Guild Town Addons?
I don't agree the roads I've seen/used are fine. $$$ tower looks fine, URK looks fine. I can't think of any other roads. And remember this is a FREE shard. Its the staff that is DONATING their time for our enjoyment. Its not like you're forced to pay $15 a month to play on this shard, its free.bismuth wrote:If any roads were done anywhere on OSI I would bet they took the time to do them properly with edge tiles so they looked like the real roads.

I completely agree with you on this one. K^A shouldn't have them anymore.bismuth wrote:Also guilds who do not roleplay and don't have active communities should have their addons removed. This one I have no clue about any of it.bismuth wrote:And as I understand it there is a blessed town on this shard with special zones to block marking and certain spells in their arena. I don't recall anyone getting special zones like that on OSI.
Overall it sounds like after a few weeks of playing here that you're unhappy with the way its run. So are you here to just complain about the staff donating their time to the masses and not just to please you?

But theres my problem, you say K^A can't have any, this seems to me just like a few individuals saying this as well. It just dosn't seem like a very sound system to me, and it certainly isn't necessary at all.Karik Verlee wrote:I don't agree the roads I've seen/used are fine. $$$ tower looks fine, URK looks fine. People can build their towns and roleplay without admin asistance, to me it seems role player should avoid admin asistance at all costs.
